Choose a launch item for your Power BI mobile app

Power BI Mobile apps introduce a new feature that allows users (and admins) to configure an item to display whenever they launch the app, instead of the app home page. Launch item can save time and enhance user experience by taking them directly to the most important or relevant content, such as a report, a dashboard, a scorecard, or an app.

Announcing the Preview of dynamic per recipient subscriptions for paginated reports! You can now set up a dynamic subscription that delivers a unique copy of a paginated report to each recipient based on data in a Power BI dataset.

 

Improving the communication performance of XMLA-based tools

We are thrilled to announce that we have made some significant performance improvements to the XMLA-endpoint communication in Power BI. Specifically, we have switched XMLA-based communication from plain text XML to binary XML and enabled compression for the .NET client libraries. Make sure you upgrade to version 19.61.1.4 or later to benefit from this improvement.

Announcing automatic scaling for dataset scale-out public preview

We’re excited to announce that we’ve reached the final milestone in our dataset scale-out public preview journey! We started the preview without auto-sync and with single read-only replica per dataset. A few months ago, we introduced auto-sync, and now Power BI can create as many read-only replicas as your Power BI capacity supports. Dataset scale-out is no longer limited to a single read-only replica per dataset.

 

Announcing new ways to create connected tables in Excel connected to Power BI

We’re excited to announce new capabilities that make it easier for users to add Power BI data to their Excel workbooks. We’re adding an Insert Table option directly in Excel. We’re also adding an Export with Live Connection option from the OneLake Data Hub.

 

On-premises data gateway August 2023 release

We are happy to announce that we have just released the August 2023 update for the on-premises data gateway (version 3000.182.4).
